September 11:
Apologies for the lack of updates the last few months. We have been taking some time off from The Unmist and concentrated on our other projects, which includes finishing Infidels' "Open Channel EP" and Stargun's "The Komputer Age EP". Release party for both the EPs @ Gamla, Oslo September 24. Angora Static has finished recording their album, and will tour Europe in October.
And what about The Unmist? Well, in spite of what people might believe, we have not broken up...new material is in the works, and we will start recording our third album next year. So long.

April 15:
Happy 28th birthday to our guitarist Øystein! The bastard is celebrating the event on tour with his brilliant HC-act Angora Static, somewhere on the road between England and France. Well, while Øystein is getting all the girls and free beer (err..sleeping in the van/on somebody's floor/being broke) Lars and I decided to have some fun on our own, and got ourselves invited to the show "Kvegpels" on Radio Nova hosted by the infamous Schau-brothers. Tune in to 99.3 MHz or www.radionova.no Wednesday April 21. between 18.30 and 20.00 for a fair amount of bullshit and rockin'.

April 2:
It is with great sadness we received the news that Tor André Knudsen passed away earlier this week.
Tor André ran the distro/record store Tiger, the Mecca of independent music in Norway.
The Norwegian indie/HC-scene has lost one of its most important figures, and we are forever grateful for what he did for all of us. On behalf of the Unmist/Infidels-collective, we would like to express our deepest condolences to his family and friends.
Rest In Peace, Tor André. You will be missed.

March 2:
In addition to the Rumble/Unmist show at Betong March 11, Lars and Torgeir of The Unmist will also perform with
Mark Steiner & The Broken Men (yeah, we're broken men!) the same evening. This will be a separate event at Glassbaren, Chateau Neuf, coincidentally in the same building as Betong. Now you've got two shows to go to. Get there early.

February 11:
Once again The Unmist will join forces with the handsome Rumble In Rhodos guys; Betong, Oslo is the place, March 11 the date. This will be a celebration of the release of the fantastic new Rumble In Rhodos EP, and it's not something you wanna miss. I know I won't. See you there!
January 13:
Stargun has been added to the bill in Halden the forthcoming Friday.
This will be an early, all ages-show prior to The Unmist an RIR later in the evening.
December 27:
Merry Christmas and a soon to be happy new year! Thanks for all the support during the last year, it's been a good year indeed for us. To start off the new year, we will be performing live @ Kroa, Halden Rock City, January 16 with our good friends Rumble In Rhodos.
November 11:
Hi. Not much to report for now... Øystein is on tour in Europe with his other band Angora Static, and I (Torgeir) am helping out El Caco on their European tour for the rest of the month. I hope to bump into Øystein somewhere in Germany and drench him in beer and sauerkraut. We'll be back in December, continuing working on material for our next album.
It's gonna be good.
October 26:
As some of you might know, Øystein has decided to quit our other project Infidels.
Not to worry; we're still friends and we'll all continue working together in The Unmist.
October 17:
We're off to Trondheim... watch out you bartefranser!
October 7:
It's official. The Norwegian underground scene is as good as dead. The without doubt most important breeding ground for up and coming bands in Oslo, the club SoWhat! closed down this Monday after nine good years of existence. When politicians decide what can be defined as "art" and "culture", rock'n roll clubs responsible for having 250 bands on stage each year are not included. Instead, their fundings go to high society establishments such as jazz clubs etc. etc, not to forget the multi-million dollar opera house project that as good as no one wants and no one needs, but sure is gonna look good when promoting Norway to foreign cruise ship-tourists. We have done some 20+ shows there with our different projects over the years, and I doubt we would have existed as a band today if we weren't given the chance by SoWhat! back when we started out. Thanks for all the good times...it's been a lot of them!
Upcoming live dates:
The Unmist @ UKA-03, Knaus, Trondheim, Oct. 19 (on the same bill as Public Enemy!) www.uka.no
Also check out:
Infidels + Rumble In Rhodos @ Gamla, Oslo, Oct. 28
Infidels + El Caco @ Café Radio, Skien, Oct. 31
September 6:
Hey. Today you're all up for a real treat. In the spring of '99, our old band Jaded recorded an album originally intended for release on Garralda Records. When we decided to split up the band later the same year, the album never saw its release. Earlier this summer, after a few drinks, we listened to the recording for the first time in a long time and realized that this is too good to keep to ourselves. The entire recording is now available for download from our "Sounds"-page. If that's not enough, we also added "14" from "Ryne Speaks". Now go enjoy yourselves.
New look + another show confirmed!
September 4:
Hey again. As you can see, we've just completed a little facelift on the site.
The discography is now as complete as it can get, including the releases we've done with our other projects, both old and new. We made a "press"-page, and even though it is still incomplete we've included reviews, interviews and some other stuff of random quality & character. Some new links are also added, there's a new bio on the "facts"-page, and some new mp.3s will be up shortly.
More good news: The Unmist are confirmed for the student festival Uka-03 in Trondheim October 19, and we'll show up even though Snoop Dogg canceled. We are working on a mini-tour with our other band Infidels in the middle of October as well, so if everything works out, we'll do two nights in Trondheim on the same weekend. One w/The Unmist and one w/Infidels, the latter with our friends in Rumble In Rhodos who'll join us on the rest of the tour. More details as we get them.
The show in Seljord was easily one of our best so far, many thanks to Dan and Geir Arne for being the best of hosts.
We didn't find the Seljord Monster though, which was a bit disappointing, but we did locate Øysteins great great grandfather at the local cemetery. Still, we believe Øystein is related to the monster.
That's about it for now. And, oh yeah, don't forget to leave your comments in the guestbook, it's been neglected
for way too long now. That's all folks!
July 23:
Hi. Such an unusual event as The Unmist performing live is coming up!
On August 1 we will do a show at Heiafestivalen, somewhere in the mountains near Seljord in Telemark, Norway.
Other acts appearing at the festival includes Camaros, El Corazon, Svidd Grevling, Roadkill and more.
We are really happy be offered to attend the event, as it gives us an excuse to search for Norway's equivalent to
The Loch Ness Monster. The Seljord Monster is said to be living in Lake Seljord, and it's supposed to be some kind of giant worm. It would be great publicity for the band if we found it, and we intend to have a go at the task with full force. Also, our guitarist Øysteins ancestors is from the same area, so it'll be fun to bribe the locals into digging up some dirt about his great great grandfather or something. We won't be the least surprised if our investigatons reveals that Øystein descends directly from the Seljord monster either.
July 7:
Hello. Sorry about the lack of updates the last couple of months,
but computers = shit, and they do break down every now and then.
We lost a lot off good stuff intended for use on the website, but hopefully we'll recover all the goodies for you in a while.
Thank you & goodnight.
April 8:
Hep. Yet another great review of "Ryne...". Rated 5/6 at spot.no.
They have also published a quite funny interview with us. Check it out here.
Nice show last Thursday. There was actually an empty wheelchair in front of the stage after the show, so we guess someone in the audience liked it too. Or maybe we were so bad that he stood up and left? Radio Nova broadcasted the show live, but we didn't know about it until a couple of minutes before we went on stage so we didn't have the chance to bring you this information on the site. Hopefully we'll get a recording of it some time soon.
That's about it.
March 31:
The show on Novafestivalen this Thursday will start at 22.00, but make sure to get there early. Kaospilot starts at 21.15, and that's something you don't want to miss.
Once again we will be joined by Øysteins brother Henning on guitar + special guest Glenn Vidar Solheim (Dødt Løp, Trucker, Cab Suzuki etc.) on drums/percussion.
New review of "Ryne..." @ Musiq.no. Good stuff.
March 19:
Soulmates never die.

October 22:
Hey. Another short notice on Infidels... The show two weeks ago was a blast, a really nice start for us. There will be another Infidels show on Mono, Wednesday Oct. 30, opening up for the American post-punk-dub-pop band Go Go Go Airheart (www.gogogoairheart.com). To see for yourself what Infidels is all about, check out www.mp3.com/Infidels for a little preview. Our web site www.infidels-r-us.com will be up in a few weeks...
September 11:
Just a little notice on our new band. Yup, you heard right...a new band.
Infidels was formed late last year and features all three members of The Unmist. We are joined by our multi-talented friend Tommy (Insense, Big Muff ' 68 etc.) on drums, which leaves Unmist drummer Lars back in the spot he used to be in with our old band Jaded, hammering his guitar and taking care of the yelling. This is neither the end of The Unmist, nor a reforming of Jaded, but a natural development of our musical interest and focus. As it looks for now our first show will go ahead on Tuesday October 8. at the Zoom contest held at SoWhat! in Oslo. Infidels combines all the different styles of music we're into, from metal and hardcore to pop and indie.
Come check out our new act!
Another show worth stopping by is the performance by Stargun at NYX in Oslo, September 28. Stargun features amongst others our own drum wiz Lars and part time Unmist guitarist Henning on bass. Stargun web site: www.stargunweb.com
That's all folks!
July 16:
The rythm section of The Unmist (Lars/Toy) will appear as a part of the backing band for the group Kundera from New York City when they perform in Oslo the forthcoming Sunday. This really is something else than The Unmist, but spreads the same amount of melancholy and darkness as we do, and we are honored to get the opportunity to play with these guys. Come see for yourself, Cafè Mono, Sunday, July 21. Show starts at 10 PM.
